was a Philosopher, saint, and a religious guide with divine grace. His personal deity was Lord Muruga (Subramanya), on whom he had composed 6666 verses propitiating the Lord. In some verses he had interspersed a few "Mantras". These Mantras could be used for meditation, through which a devotee could visualize the presence of God. Establishing a rapport between the two (God and His creations) was a divine force he perpetuated. In one of the hymns, all the 44 sentences were deemed as "Mantras" to help one devout to be in communion with God. This work, "Kumarasthavam", is a rare composition and its recitation will provide knowledge and lead one to eternity.

                                The Swamigal considered Siva and Subramanya in Unity and did not see the duality. His spiritual prayer "Even if you discard me, do not let down my followers", was special and displayed the uniqueness of character.
